Thoughts (Part 2; Astral)

Navigating the Astral Aspect of Thinking

  • Mapping thoughtforms is incredibly useful.  Technically, maybe a better term is 'astral form' since an astral form doesn't have to be tied to a thought.  I'll use them interchangeably.

  • An astral form is the basic object of the astral world.   But navigating them is difficult if you hold on to physical references.   Physical objects have a specific location in time and space.  They also have extension; they take up space and do not intepenetrate.  Astral forms are not fixed in time and space, and do not have extension.

  • Even the term 'astral body' can be misleading.  The astral body is not a ghostly replica of the physical body, floating above.

  • Often when we perceive an astral form, we are not perceiving it directly.  We are perceiving the reflection of the form in the etheric (i.e., the chitta)

  • Astral forms are not dimensional.  Think of the idea behind E=mc2.  That energy and mass are interchangeable.  Where does that idea reside?  Does it have dimensions?  These questions don't make sense.  But, confusingly, astral spaces do have dimensions (see more below).

Packed and Unpacked Thinking

There is a lot of material on packed thinking and thoughts in the Clairvision books, KTs and lectures.  Below are my own reflections and experiences that might be helpful.

  • Packed and unpacked are terms that refer to where an object sits on the chain of emanations.

  • Whether something is packed or not is a matter of degree.  What is considered a packed level from one perspective might be regarded as unpacked at another level.

  • Astral forms are packed compared to their reflections or manifestations in the etheric or physical world.  But within the astral there are various degrees of packing with noetic or archetypal forms beings the most packed.

  • Packed does not mean encoded.   It's not like an unpacked phrase or expression is statically compressed in the packed form like a zip file.  You have to see how the packed version is actually more dynamic and alive.

    • Translation is an easy example.  'The rose is red' and 'La rosa es roja' are two unpacked expressions of the same thoughtform.  But the phrasing is not encoded or encrypted in the thoughtform.  Rather, once you apprehend the thoughtform, you can decode in any way you like, depending on the medium and your skill with it.

Dimensions and Astral Spaces

  •  An astral form does not have dimensions.  However, when you tune into an astral form, often a dimensional space opens up.  The dimensions are not fixed like in the physical world, nor are they fluid like in the etheric.  They can change quite rapidly and sometimes are so different from the physical dimensions that you can't establish references.  However, they do have the property of extension; that is, of taking up space.

  • Non-dimensional does not mean zero dimensions, which would mean everything is compressed into a point without any extension.   Rather I think when most people say non-dimensional they mean a space without fixed dimensions.  Fluid dimensional spaces, in contrast, have semi-fixed dimensions.

  • Astral spaces emerge like a flower from a seed.  They have extension, and sometimes there is even imagery.  But they also seem very different from physical spaces; the light in them is different, the colors are different, sometimes everything seems "hyper-real".

    • Vivid dreams, and also lucid dreams, often have these same characteristics.

  • It also seems like astral spaces are a way of unpacking the astral form, but at the astral level (as opposed to unpacking in the etheric and physical like with music or words).  There are probably numerous ways of generating an astral space from an astral form.

  • Don't assume that an astral space is accurate or truthful simply it emerges vividly or strongly.  It could be wrong, there could be your own coloring of the space creating a distortion, you might not be seeing the entire context, etc.  You still need to use judgment and your own noetic vision to understand the meaning.

  • Process of tuning into an astral form.

    • Tune and try to catch it at the most packed level possible.  You need to be as still and packed as possible.

    • Don't try too hard, this isn't some type of magic.  We catch astral forms all the time when we speak, converse, etc.  What we're trying to do is isolate and sharpen the process of perceiving an astral form itself.

    • When it works, you will feel like you have a lock on the form.  The astral form itself may feel like it is moving or fluctuating as you keep the thread.  Don't be distracted by that; and in truth it may be your own fluctuations that are creating that sensation.

    • An astral space may emerge.  It feel like a space unfolds in front of you, but it may not be visual, more like a sensation.  Regardless, you you still want to keep the "lock" on the astral form or the experience will stall or, worse, fad.  Keep in mind the space is just one unpacking or manifestation of what underlies it.

    • You can use this same process whether it's tuning into something in daily life, or if you are doing some type of deep study or contemplation on an idea or inspiration.
